The Dark Child
The Dark Child is a four-track EP about the journey inward. It follows a young man through the noise of distraction, the weight of other people's expectations, and the quiet painful work of becoming himself.
Across Neverland, S.O.S, W.U.H.L and Working On You, JAKAK traces the full arc — from the fear of imperfection and the circles of comparison, to the walls we build around our hearts, to the moment we finally witness someone else doing the work and recognise our own reflection in theirs.
The EP is accompanied by an original Afrofuturist short film — a mythological animated world where the same journey plays out as an epic. A boy born marked. Cast out by his city. Lost at sea. Tested by the darkness within himself. And slowly, quietly, found.
This is not a story about arrival. It is a story about the becoming.
Sound. Ideas. The examined life.
